How we made the video…
We made this video without a storyboard. I told the animators the whole idea about the project and I gave them different scenes (drawings) that I used in the project “Scenes to avoid nightmares” as paper-cuts. Each animator had to animate the scenes however they wanted and without seeing each other´s work.
I designed the background with all the forests that I had used on my artwork and I gave the sound artist commissioned an idea about what kind of environment I would like. When everybody finished I worked with my main animator, Tomás Silva, and we solved the puzzle. Using the program After Effects, we first put together the background and the sound, and then using the sound as a guide we decided on the order of the scenes. We used randomness and it works like a dream.
