Biography

Statement // Declaración de artista

Angelica Teuta is a colombian artist (1985), she works on installations using resources such as light, mechanisms and spaces. Angelica has a dialogue between photography and sculpture, performs hybrids and constructs objects from pre photographic concepts. She wants to develop projects that challenge the notion of reality that we have been taught and how far we have been conditioned to see and hear in a few standards. Scarcely ever we inquire about it and we have a passive attitude.
Angelica’s job is to use basic technologies, recycled objects and information, understanding environments and own research for common use. She is interested to work in this way because she believes that the creation and experimentation are possible in every home and domestic spaces.
Studied Fine Arts at the National University of Colombia. Has exhibit nationally and internationally since 2007.  She currently lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
